later on 2.14.08

John will not have the colonoscopy until next week sometime. He is flat on his back for the next 24 hours. He's antsy already. He says the pain is not too bad but he can feel where they went into his kidney via his back. He is tired and called to say goodnight to the kids at 7 instead of 8pm b/c he was falling asleep. I'm hoping he sleeps well.

Chemo should start tomorrow. We have no idea what to expect with that med (side effects wise). The doc now says that chemo will be for three months, which confused us b/c we both thought that prior he had said only six weeks. He will start him on the stronger (more likely to cause cancer) chemo for a week until we get the biopsy results back. After that, if it is confirmed that it is WG, then he'll stay on that med. If we cannot confirm it, then he will be moved down to a different type of med that is still chemo-like, but is less likely to cause cancer.

We have no idea when he'll be discharged. He says he's coming home tomorrow but he says that every day, every time he's hospitalized.
