John is out of his biopsy and back in his room. All went well; no bleeding, no lacerations, and he only had to hold his breath for about 10 seconds. The major challenge now will be getting him to stay still for 24 hours. It has only been 15 minutes and he is already bored. I suspect he will be calling some of you. (Not to confuse that with yesterday...I do not have any problem with him calling people when/if he feels up to it. In fact, I took him his cell phone for that reason b/c he has no one's numbers memorized and I wanted him to be able to reach out when he felt up to it. My request from yesterday still stands, however; please let him reach out to you when he feels well enough. Beyond that, please let him rest for the next few days. Thanks.)
They have decided to start the chemo tomorrow since the biopsy will take about a week to get back and the doc doesn't want to lose that kind of time for treatment. There is also word that he will (may) have a colonoscopy tomorrow. How that would be possible without him having to move is beyond me so we need to look into that. He's not even supposed to lift anything heavier than two newspapers for two weeks so I can't imagine putting him through another procedure during that time. So there are still questions. I'll keep you posted on that as we go.
One step at a time. Stay tuned. Keep praying (kidney healing from the biopsy w/ no complications and that the chemo not cause cancer).
Thanks,
k
