that people back the f off.
here's the thing people, john feels good. he tells me daily that he's feeling great actually. and, least you need reminding, he needed to lose a few pounds prior to getting sick last year. the amount of weight that he was carrying around his belly was stressful on his heart.
why, then oh why i ask, do you feel the need to tell him "you've lost too much weight!" "you look sick!", "oh my gawd you look so sick!"
seriously? SERIOUSLY. why would you do that? what would possess you to say that to him?
THE MAN FEELS GOOD. can we just roll with that please?
seriously, let's look at, oh say, Dr. Oz for a minute (since multitudes of people seem to want to tell me what the man says about my detoxing). ok, fine. let's consider him. he's really thin. rail thin actually. but b/c he walks around at every tv appearance in medical scrubs he seems to be the picture of health. john walks around in jeans and he's dead man walking. come on. can we cut him a break?
and need i remind people that john WAS really sick. he was bed ridden at points, and hospitalized 3 times, and in isolation and on chemotherapy and almost died. so, clearly, muscles have atrophied over the past 17 months. his biceps no longer look like Popeye, and for now any physical activity can cause a relapse. so, no, he's not a bulge of rippling muscles at this point. but still, he's up and around. he's working and rebuilding his business. he's in a good mood. he's sleeping at night and active during the day. he's able to care for the kids and help around the house. he's going for walks and eating right and taking care of himself by listening to his body. that's a whole new skill for him. so can we please stop telling him how sickly he looks? you're making him feel bad when all he wants to do is focus on how far he's come in the right direction.
let me say that again b/c he will not tell you, he will only come home and tell me, ...
YOU ARE MAKING HIM FEEL BAD.
WHICH PISSES ME OFF.
so, i am respectfully requesting, that those of you who see him and think he's too thin, ...back the hell off my husband and keep that opinion behind your teeth.
he is doing wonderful. getting well after last year is hard work. he is actively trying. this is hard.
you have no idea how hard this is. you cannot know. so keep your mouth shut please.
i do not get riled up easily but if people continue to come after him this way i will have to kick some asses.
thank you.
the management
ps: to the few who have been supportive, i genuinely say thank you. you rock.
