john's leg seems to not be holding up as long as it has been in the past. it's like the more he pushes it, the less it is able to give. one day he can be up and around for hours with few ramifications. then a few days later he can only make it about half that amount of time. then, the next week, it's only a few hours. and now, some days, it's just 60 minutes or so and the whole thing blows up like a balloon from the ankle to above the knee. usually sitting down and raising it will help, and i'm not even really sure he's noticed the progression, but there's a definite weakness that is starting to show itself.
he went to get his weekly bloodwork and all is ok. the doc only sees him once every other week now so he doens't have an appt until next fri.
in the meantime, he seems to believe he's superman. i remind him that just because he's not "sick and hospitalized", does not mean he's "well and healthy". we have agreed to compromise and arrived at a solid "recouperating". so, john is recouperating. he is putting some of the weight back on, but primarily what appears to be "weight" is actually swelling in his face from being on steroids for three months. he is still very fatigued and his leg constantly hurts him; but still, we have come far. we're hoping we only continue forward.
three months.
wow.
please keep praying. thanks.
