things are not good...

john started being in pain again on saturday and it has progressed pretty quickly. i don't know if this is b/c of the decrease in steroids or not. it's primarily from the ankles to the hips. by sunday he could hardly walk and actually at one point one leg was completly useless and he was sort of hopping around on just one. by sunday that weaker leg was starting to swell. he was up all last night and got no sleep b/c of the pain. today the swelling and pain continued so he called the doc. they are having him come in tomorrow morning at 9am to do an ultrasound to make sure there is not a blood clot in the swollen leg. then at 10 he has an appt to get his official kidney biopsy results back. on thursday at 2:45 he has an appt for the consult for the colonscopy.

today his latest weekly monday blood screen showed that his potassium was too low so they called him in a script and had him start that med immediately. i'm not even sure what that means. i'll find out tomorrow at the doc appt.

i am hoping this latest round of pain and swelling does not land him back in the hospital for a third time in two months. there is more swelling in his face due to the steroids.

this constant schedule of doc appts and meds and scripts all feels like a life foreign to ours. 37 years old...at times it feels more like 87; like a dream we can't wake up from. it's nonstop and relentless and we'll just see some progress or it will let up for a bit and then it returns and we're thrown back into crisis mode. and so it goes.

please pray that there is no blood clot. i do not want to add 'blood clot' to the never ending list of what's wrong. i mean, geesh, it seems to me at some point the guy needs a break.
thanks,
k
