sorry about the lag in posts. i've been experiencing technical difficulties with my laptop.
so all is going pretty well thus far. i feel good, john feels good. i feel like crap. john feels like crap. it is what it is i guess. we both notice that we are sleeping deeper, waking up more refreshed, and overall feel pretty good. i have noticed that the whites of my eyes are whiter. whatever that means.
we have mastered the fine art of juicing e-x-a-c-t-l-y 16 oz of veggies at once with none to spare b/c we don't want anything to go to waste but, ... no one wants to drink the spare either, ...that is for sure.
i'm down 10 pounds which wasn't the point but hey my super black pants fit again just in time for today's board meeting at work so that's a plus. john is getting so rail thin he looks like the boy i started dating in feb 1994. wow. 15 years.
anyway, he says he feels good but now he's so thin that when people see him they think he's losing weight b/c he's sick again and not b/c he's getting well.
what i notice most is the loss of muscle mass since before he was sick. his body has really taken quite a toll this past 16 months. but it will come. one day at a time. one step at a time.
so, your all wondering about things like green grossness and poop huh? ha! well, our poop is fine so thanks for your concern. the green grossness, well, it may be the death of me.
MAN is it green and MAN is it gross.
so our day consists of:
8:30 am
berry drink
fiber drink
herbal tea
distilled water
10:30 am:
green drink
herbal tea
12:30 pm:
1 cup juiced veggies, mostly greens (kelp, collard greens, dandolions, asparagus, cucumber, swiss chard, BLECH)
1 digestive enzyme
fiber drink
distilled water
2:30 pm:
distilled water
green drink
herbal tea
4:30 pm:
berry drink
6:00 pm:
2 cups homemade vegetable soup (liquified)
herbal tea
digestive enzyme
fiber drink
distilled water
7:30 pm:
herbal tea
bedtime:
2 tbsps aloe vera gel
so, what is the worst part you ask? well, if you ask john he'd say the aloe vera gelatenous bitter nastiness. i say it's the veggie juice at lunch that smells like freshly cut grass after it's rained and it's stickin' to everything. it gets this skin on top of it between when you juice it at breakfast and drink it at lunch. you're supposed to drink it as soon as you juice it but when you're working, really what else can ya do. so, back to the skin. yeah, it gets this this spongy skin that you have to drink through to get to the juice below. i have nearly vomited on two occassions. GAG. we both agree that a close second place is the fiber drink. UGH. and we also both agree that almost any soup can be made to taste better if you just add more cayenne pepper. so, that's that for the food. (aka: drink).
the nutrition part of this is what detoxs crap out of the cells. it's primarily veggies b/c veggies detox, repair and feed cells, whereas fruit only feeds. this is more about the detoxing and repairing and less about the feeding. although i have to say that your body gets so much raw nutrition at close intervals that there really is no hunger. there's no cravings either. that's always good.
john does say he's hungry from time to time but due to the parasites he is supposed to drink a protein drink every now and then while on this detox whereas i'm not, so when he gets hungry i remind him to go have a protein drink and that seems to do the trick.
now, while there's no hunger, i do have to say that i miss food. i miss it like a dear friend that's gone on vacation for three weeks. i miss the smell of it, the taste of it, the texture on my tongue. i miss the 'occassion' of it. like, 'let's go to dinner tonight', or 'let's order in', or 'let's have popcorn with the movie'. so i miss it that way, but other than that, i'm ok.
so, as i was saying, the nutrition piece of all this clears the crap out of the cells, but then what? well, it seems that then the cells dump all this into the blood, where it then goes to the excretory organs of the body (lymph nodes, liver, kidneys, and colon). if it just sits there, you can get really sick so there are certain things that you're supposed to do to then clean this crap out of those organs. but that, ... is for another day. this post is long enough. i'll tackle what a 'healing crisis' is and what we've experienced so far at a later date too.
thanks for caring. keep praying! we want no relapses!
cheers and bottom's up!

you haven't mentioned anything about the kids. What do they think? Do they ask questions? Is it hard to make them food when you guys are drinking the gunk? Just curious.
