so i've been getting some questions. here's more info.
Q: what happens after 21 days? can you chew again?
A: yes, we can chew again =) (thank goodness b/c boy do i like chewing!)
Q: how do you stay detoxed? or is it just starting again with a new slate?
A: there’s no way NOT to toxify yourself again, so yes, it’s like starting with a sorta clean slate (there’s no way to get everything out. no way at all). we can make better choices about the crap we put in our bodies so as not to get so toxic-y gunked up, but it's really realatively inevitable that the gunk exists even where you can't see it.
the grad student in me is prompted to now cite you a bunch of sources, quotes and facts about 'toxic load' and the stastics of toxic exposure but honestly i am trying not to be a zealot or food police or anything like that. i need to keep my eye on the prize, ... a healthier john, a healthier family, a healthier me. you all can go read your own books. =) now excuse me while i go remove all bottles of bleach from my home. haha. mostly. ok no really i'm not kidding at all. get the bleach out of your house.
Q: do you have to do a full 21 days?
A: no. people can choose to do a different version, a shorter one, or can go back and forth along the year. maybe start out with the 21 days and then 6 months later do a week, and maybe throughout the year do a weekend per month. there’s 3 you can choose: 21 days, a week, a weekend. so, the theory is if you had a really binge wedding or holiday or something, you can kick start yourself back with the 2 day gig. if you’ve been doing ok but not super, then do a week. if you’ve never done it or you want to make it an annual event, then it’s 21 days. they do not recommend going longer the 21 days or doing the 21 day more than once or twice per year.
i’ll type more details as I learn more over the next 2 weeks.
no chewing. Oy. did I mention I love to chew?
