later 2.15.08

John is discharged now but b/c of Mary still being very ill he is staying in the guest room of his nephew's house a few blocks away. He has a bed and tv and computer and little fireplace and can do plenty of resting (something the poking and prodding in the hopsital wouldn't allow). His niece is the lucky stay-at-home of two healthy children so there will be less risk of him catching anything and also she will be able to keep close eye on him. It's hard but is what's best. He seems to be doing better regarding his spots and swelling (IV steroids will do that), so now he just needs to take it easy for two weeks and not overdo from the biopsy. I bet pretty darn soon he'll be getting rested and bored so let the calls and texts begin! =)

The biopsy will be back in a week. Pray for good results. The colonscopy, as far as I know, is off the table for at least 7-10 days so he can recouperate from the biopsy. That makes us feel better. He started the chemo this afternoon and is also on an antibiotic that he'll stay on as long as he's on the chemo. Pray the chemo does not make him very sick.

Tomorrow is Isaiah's and Noah's championship basketball game and obviously John cannot attend. He is very disappointed by that. We will videotape the game for him but it's not the same. That is all for now. We all just need some rest and healing at this point.
