we're back from john's sister's house in PA for the holidays. while there, john went to see a different doc in hopes of maybe some new info. no such luck. the appt only led to yet another referral to yet another doc for a blood test that may have already been done (a "live analysis" that takes about 90 minutes, i believe). honestly, with the number of tests he's had completed in '08, who the heck knows if he's already had this kind. we'll call his regular doc this week and find out. it sounds too simple to not have been done but who knows; sometimes the simpliest things are the ones overlooked. so, we'll check, and i'll keep ya posted.
john seems to be getting a bit worse. his pain is now in e-v-e-r-y joint instead of floating from here to there one or two at a time. his shoulders, elbows, wrists, fingers, hips, knees, ankles, ... all at once. good grief. such pain, so constant, so young. but on an up side there have been no new vasculitis spots on his legs since ceasing the meds. (there was, however, a mysterious splotch that appeared on his wrist yesterday that we're not sure what to make of. it's still there today. he says it doesn't hurt or itch and it doesn't seem to be spreading, ... but it's a definite dark red, irregularly shaped, splotch. who knows.)
and the beat goes on...
