good news: John was taken off his blood thinner today. His steroid was cut down to only 2.5 mg (point of reference, he has slowly moved down from 80 mg).
medium news: He was supposed to be taken off the steroids completely today but he's been having so many small-medium, consistent symptoms still that that couldn't happen. Most recent symptoms: chest spasms, large/sudden/painful lumps that form in seconds on his wrist as he yells in pain and then they suddenly disappear in about 3 minutes leaving what appears to be a bluish bruise.
not so great news: 1) john not being taken 100% off the steroids means that his timeline for going off the insulin is pushed back too, as that can't happen until two months after he's completely off the steroids. 2) the doctor told john that "your body has been through the wringer. don't expect to feel like yourself for another six months". so, much like last year, we are 'looking forward to spring'.
can we all believe that we're looking at over a year for this illness? can we all beleive that we are AGAIN waiting for spring? can we sigh a collective, 'no'.
back to good news: 'six months until you feel like yourself again' is WAY better than, 'you may never feel like yourself again'. things could always be worse.
please keep praying. john still needs your prayers. he has recently started having some minor anxiety attacks too at the mere thought of getting the vasculitis back.
thanks,
k
