7.26.08

so, we prayed that the physical activity would not be too taxing on john's body; ... success! he is tired and fatigued but no more than usual and is doing a super job balancing what he CAN do with what he WANTS to do.

now, we also prayed for this past week to go 'smoothly and without incident'; hmmm. it's too long to type but let's just say that there's no where near a bathroom out there. hit a sewer pipe with the back hoe that the water board hadn't marked, john fell off a ladder about 4-5 feet up, we found what appears to be a 100 year old tank (water? fuel/heating oil?) that's rusting out only about 1.5 feet below the surface of the yard that no one knew was there, and half the week was riddled with thunderstorms. hmmm. the good news is that the sewer pipe was a relatively easy fix, john landed on his feet, we found the tank via digging and not via one of the kids falling through the yard and drowning to death, and the skies are now sunny.

so, who knows. this is the way of do-it-yourself home improvements projects, yes? so we move on thankful that at least there's a bathroom upstairs.

as for john's health, he had to go in for scheduled, routine bloodwork and they called him back and said he needs to go back next week and have it done again (he hasn't needed to have it done weekly in quite some time). it seems his blood is getting too thin so their monitoring that and i bet they end up decreasing his blood thinners next week. we shall see.
