2.19.08

The biggest excitement today was the screw up at the doc's office when one doc said to cease all chemo and drop the steroids in half, ...based on close to absolutely nothing medically sound. Geesh. We can't wait until our regular doc returns from vacation next week. We had his nurse call him on vacation (yes, we are 'those' patients) and he said to absolutely not listen and just keep on keepin' on until all the results are back for the biopsy. So that's what we're doing.

Two things strike me: 1) Wow. you really gotta advocate for your own needs when dealing with the medical profession, and 2) if that's the worst thing that happened today then today was a relatively good day.

In addition, dare I say it, ...we have been kid virus free for 48 hours. Yee-haw! We have a large air purifier running in the house for the past few days and we are shooting for John to come home tomorrow. Still waiting on biopsy results, the meds are still very hard on his system, worries of leukemia still loom, and John continues to be very very weak; but overall, a good day.
So we'll take it.
